Shaking his head, a small dose of wonder in his eyes, he said, “You are chaos.”
Book 1 in the Assistant to the Villain series.
When Evie Sage quite literally stumbled upon the most feared and hated villain in all of Rennedawn, she didn’t expect to end up working as his assistant. She also didn’t expect him to be so distractingly attractive.
But Evie is nothing if not determined, and as she attempts to settle into her strange new workplace, she finds herself taking to the job with a surprising ease. And before long, Evie and the villain both find themself questioning their own motives and morals, wrestling with past trauma and desperately denying the steadily growing attraction between them. And if that wasn’t enough, the two of them also have to find out how to deal with the fact that there may very well be a traitor in their midst.
Assistant to the Villain is a fun, cute fantasy workplace romance with a clumsy, awkward and very relatable and loveable heroine, and a grumpy, evil villain who finds himself drawn to Evie despite his fierce attempts at resisting any inconvenient or complicated emotions.
The story is ridiculous in an absolutely adorable way. There’s a fire-breathing dragon, torture and several assassination attempts, a romance reading, pastry-baking ogre, gossiping interns, a crowned frog, a healer who charges people in secrets for her work, blood magic and coffee and doughnuts.
Recommended for readers who enjoy cute, silly, cozy stories and love quirky characters, amusing banter, fantasy worlds and sizzling, if inept, romance.
