In Marts I found some great free books on Bookfunnel, from the very logical Saul Sheldon and the Crooked Shelf, to the two cozy 1920s
historical mysteries Murder Beneath the Roses and The Catalogued Corpse and the three contemporary cozy mysteries The Only Way is Larceny, Forecast: A Latte Trouble and A Mallard Point Mystery.
I read the ARC of the historical mystery The Last Fatal Hour releasing April 7, 2026, and enjoyed review copies of the mystery/adventure drama Captive Heart at Brantmar Castle, the dual timeline, book-within-a-book thriller Grabtown and the audiobook of the romance short story Karen’s New Year.
I was swept away to a fantasy desert kingdom in Hemlock & Silver and to a sentient space station in Station Eternity. I travelled to Hamburg in 1962 in Bonnie Writes The Beatles, and I witnessed Irish sheep investigate a murder in Three Bags Full.
For the A-Z Cozy Mystery Challenge on Instagram I covered the letters G and H with the two contemporary cozies Stitched in Secret and When Skies are Grey.
I read the classic Poirot mystery, Murder on the Orient Express for the ReadChristie2026 challenge on Instagram, and I read about the forgotten female writers who inspired Jane Austen in the nonfiction book Jane Austen’s Bookshelf.
