Captive Heart at Brantmar Castle by Celeste Fenton

“Fugitives. Missing Kids. COVID looming like a storm.”

Book 2 of the Mysteries of a Heart series. Gabby Heart is back, and this time she is going to Scotland with her friend Abe, a children’s author whose books Gabby illustrates. The two are looking forward to exploring the Highlands, but soon find themselves in the middle of a Scottish castle mystery, while the rest of the inhabitants of Dost Island are faced with sudden disappearances of young people, and a certain pandemic anyone who was around in 2020 will remember.

Captive Heart at Brantmar Castle is a mix of mystery, adventure, comedy, drama and tragedy, involving Gabby Heart and her friends, family and community on Dost Island. Fun banter, saucy jokes, sexy encounters and heartfelt friendship mingle with suspense, heartbreak and the shock of COVID-19 changing everything for everyone back in 2020.

For readers of the first book in the series, Lost Heart in King Manor, this second book offers more insight into the lives and thoughts of the characters already introduced, as well as adding Abe, Gabby’s friend, into the mix. Recommended for readers who enjoy character-rich mysteries full of adventure, romance, drama and suspense.

Many thanks to Celeste Fenton for sending me her novel to read. I received a review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
