The Bakeshop Mystery is an ongoing series of 21 books with a 22nd books announced for 2026. Book 1, Meet Your Baker, was published in 2014.

The series is set in Ashland, Oregon, hometown of pastry chef Juliet Montague Capshaw known as Jules. She has returned home after working as a pastry chef aboard a cruise ship with her estranged husband Carlos, who still works on the cruise ship. In Ashland, Juliet runs the bakeshop Torte, baking delicious sweet treats, and constantly gets herself involved in mysteries and murders.

A super sweet, cute, fun, cozy mystery series with a quaint little town, romantic complications, and a colourful cast of side characters, including Juliet’s mom Helen, Juliet’s high school sweetheart, Thomas who is now a detective, and Juliet’s theatre director friend, Lance. Juliet is a very sympathetic main character who is devoted to her work, family and friends, and throughout the series her life changes and evolves. Each book features a new mystery, but if you really want to get to know Jules and understand her circumstances, you should read the books in order.
