Christa’s Ghost by Anne Brooke

Christa Dalrymple is dead. She has been murdered in her sleep, next to her estranged husband John. But instead of passing on, Christa remains in her house as a ghost, floating above her own dead body. Determined that she can do a better job than the police, Christa launches her own ghostly investigation, learning a lot about herself and her husband in the process.

A funny, cozy, paranormal mystery featuring a strong-willed, assertive woman in her 50s who suddenly finds herself in a strange position, investigating her own life and death. I love mysteries with bossy but endearing middle-aged women, and Christa is just that kind of character. She might seem annoying on the surface, but the comedy of the clash between the way Christa sees herself, and the way others perceive her, is a big part of the charm of this story.

Christa’s ghost is first and foremost a witty, comedic, light-hearted mystery, but it is also a story of forgiveness, self-awareness and moving on, and a story that will leave the reader with a smile on their face, and a fuzzy warm feeling in their heart.
