Dial A for Aunties by Jesse Q. Sutanto

Book 1 in the Aunties series.

A dead body, a high society wedding on a luxury island resort, a heartthrob ex boyfriend and a bunch of interfering family members. That is what Meddelin Chan has to deal with in Dial A for Aunties, a comedy/mystery/romance by Jesse Q. Sutanto.

As the daughter of Chinese-Indonesian immigrants who sacrificed a lot to come to California, Meddelin Chan has been brought up to respect her elders and put her family above all else, so when she finds herself with a dead body on her hands it quickly becomes a Chan family matter. Dealing with a dead body is difficult, but dealing with her mom and aunts trying to help her might just be even worse. Meddelin’s mom and aunties are equal parts loving, admonishing and interferring and constantly bicker and banter in English, Indonesian and/or Chinese.

On top of that, Meddelin is distracted by the sudden appearance of her cute and handsome ex boyfriend Nathan who keeps popping up when she least expects it, making things even more difficult.

Dial A for Aunties is a humorous description of a crazy scheme to dispose of a body, a comical depiction of a wedding where almost everything that can go wrong, does go wrong, and a deepfelt loveletter to big, loud, loving Asian immigrant families.
